I joined HOSA aspiring to go into medicine—nothing more. Little did I know I’d end up pulling my video skills into the mix. When the State Leadership Conference came around, I chose to compete in the Public Service Announcement event, where the prompt was to inform people about Alzheimer’s and how to avoid it in a 30-second video. I built my concept around a chess match, simple, tense, and symbolic of staying mentally active. And somehow, that was enough to take the top spot in Washington.

For DJI’s November 2023 challenge on their official server of over 6,500 members, I created a travel film from my trip through Türkiye, featuring Giresun’s mountainous region and the surreal landscapes of Cappadocia. This project was the point where I fully dove into editing, learning how to shape footage into a real narrative. The film won the monthly challenge and now stands as one of my earliest steps into commercial-style travel videography.
